Manchester City v Watford Betting Preview
Manchester City have won the last six games in a row at homeMan City have already wrapped up the Carabao Cup and Premier League title and look to become the first team ever to win all three domestic trophies in one season. Their form is impressive. The last time they failed to win a domestic match was back on 29th January. Sunday’s 4-1 win at Brighton was a 14th straight success in Premier League. Pep Guardiola's men have reached the FA Cup final by defeating Rotherham, Burnley, Newport, Swansea and Brighton - not the toughest opposition in the nationa. As to direct encounters, the Citizens have won each of the last 10 consecutive matches against this opposition
Guardiola has the luxury of a near fully fit squad, with Claudio Bravo and Benjamin Mendy the only absent first-team members. Fernandinho will face a late fitness test and could be replaced by Ilkay Gundogan in the middle of the park. The German international should be flanked by Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva, meaning that Bernardo Silva will be moved up front. The likes of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero will complete the front trio, while Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sanè and Gabriel Jesus are the offensive alternatives. At the back John Stones, Vincent Kompany, Aymeric Laporte and Nicolas Otamendi are battling it out for a starting spot.
Watford will secure Europa League qualification should they win the FA CupWatford ended the Premier League campaign with three straight defeats, conceding nine times in the process. As a result, Watford did finish down in 11th in the Premier League. The Hornets enter this clash on the back of a 4-1 home loss to West Ham on Sunday. As to the FA Cup, they knocked Wolves out in the semi finals after extra time (3-2), courtesy of a stunning performance by Gerard Deulofeu. Prior to that, the Hornets beat Manchester United and Liverpool. Javi Gracia's men lost home and away to City in the Premier League this season but did score in both games.
Jose Holebas’s red card against West Ham on the final day of the Premier League has been rescinded, making him eligible to play this weekend. Domingos Quina and Sebastian Prodl are therefore the only confirmed absentees for Gracia to contend with. Heurelho Gomes will start in goal in what is poised to be his final game before calling time on his career.
