How many teams get relegated?
The bottom three teams are relegated to Championship. Their spots are taken by the top two teams from the Football League Championship and a 3rd team that qualifies after winning the play-offs involving the 3rd-6th placed teams of the Football League Championship.
If any clubs finish with the same number of points, their position in the Premier League table is determined by goal difference, then the number of goals scored. If the teams still cannot be separated, they will be awarded the same position in the table.
Last season, the likes of Burnley, Watford and Norwich City were relegated.

The 20 teams playing in the Premier League this year are:
- Aston Villa

2021/22 Premier League Title Contenders
Bookies are predicting Manchester City (13/20) to retain their Premier League title. They have enjoyed a terrific summer transfer campaign, signing probably the best striker of the world - Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund - a solid midfielder such as Kalvin Phillips and one of the best youngsters around, Julian Alvarez from River Plate. As a result, there a plenty of reasons to believe that Pep Guardiola's men will top the table this year too.
The Citizens will face a tough opposition anyway. Liverpool (16/5) narrowly missed out on winning the quadruple last season and had to settle for winning the FA Cup and the League Cup. they have signed Darwin Nunez from Benfica but lost Sadio Manè to Bayern Munich. If the Reds make further additions, especially in midfield, then they certainly have a chance of dethrone Pep's army.
Chelsea (16/1) have strenghtned their backline with the arrival of Kalidou Koulibaly and their front line with the signing of Raheem Sterling. The Blues have loaned Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan and looks well behind the top two teams.
Arsenal (66/1) and Tottenham (14/1) have both impressed during the pre-season. They certainly have the potential to grab a top four finish and secure Champions League football for the following season. Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira are key signings for the Gunners while the Spurs have brought top players such as Richarlison, Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet, Djed Spence and Yves Bissouma.
Manchester United (33/1) have a new manager - Erik Ten Hag - and have strenghtened their team with the signings of Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia.
Who has won the most Premier League titles?
Since the Premier League’s opening edition in 1992, Manchester United have won the most titles with 13 victories. They are followed by Man City on 6 wins and Chelsea on 5 wins.
In terms of the entire history of the English top-flight, Manchester United have also won most often, with 20 league titles to their name. Liverpool are a close second on 19, while Arsenal follow with 13 wins.
Recent Premier League winners:
- 2021-22: Manchester City
- 2020-21: Manchester City
- 2019-20: Liverpool
- 2018-19: Manchester City
- 2017-18: Manchester City
- 2016-17: Chelsea
- 2015-16: Leicester City
- 2014-15: Chelsea
- 2013-14: Manchester City
- 2012-13: Manchester United
- 2011-12: Manchester City
2022/23 Premier League Relegation Candidates
A number of teams were lucky to stay in the Premier League last season and the likes of Leeds, Everton and Southampton will be battling relegation once again.
Newly promoted teams Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Fulham are favourites to go down however. We’d certainly back the Cherries to face the drop, while Leeds UTD and Southampton will also find it a struggle this season.
Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Newcastle are being tipped to do well, while Brentford could be worth a punt on relegation, as we all know how difficult is remaining up for the second straight year.
Everton are a value bet at 5/1 in our opinion, given the Toffees finished 16th last season and their best player Richarlison moved to Tottenham.
