SPARTAK MOSCOW vs LIVERPOOL BETTING PREVIEWSpartak Moscow are unbeaten in their last six matches but four of those have been draws. They have won just three of their 11 domestic league games this season and drew their Group E opener 1-1 with Maribor earlier this month. The Russians drew at home against Anzhi Makhachkala last weekend, which means they have now won just once in their last seven games in all competitions. Domestically, Spartak lie seventh in the standings after 11 games, a sobering 13 points behind the leaders Zenit.
Spartak are struggling with injury problems as Roman Zobnin, Artem Timofeev, Denis Glushakov, Ze Luis, Gergi Tigiev and Jano Ananidze are out through injury. Furthermore, Quincy Promes is a major doubt while January signing Luiz Adriano's star has fallen considerably due to fitness issues and a lack of form. The likes of Mario Pasalic, Ivelin Popov and Fernando should feature form the off in midfield.
Liverpool ended a run of four games without a win in all competitions after beating 3-2 Leicester on the road last Saturday. Few days earlier, the Foxes knocked them out of the Carabao Cup. They sit 5th in the Premier League standings, 5 points shy of the Manchester team. As to the Champions League, the Reds opened their campaign with a 2-2 home draw against Sevilla. Jurgen Klopp's men have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five. Only Leicester, West Ham and Crystal Palace have conceded more goals than Liverpool in the top flight.
Jurgen Klopp will field a 4-2-3-1 formation. The German manager could decide to rest Roberto Firmino, giving Daniel Sturridge the chance to impress. Mo Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Manè are expected to start as offensive midfielders while Emre Can and Jordan Henderson will be the midfield pivots. The Reds will be without Joe Gomez, who was sent off in the Sevilla game. Adam Lallana and Adam Bogdan are both injured, while Nathaniel Clyne is not eligibile to feature.
