AC Milan arrives at the first round of the Champions League downsized in terms of play and morale. Eddie Howe's team, a real surprise last season, are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table.

Pierre Kalulu, Ismael Bennacer, Luka Romero, Mattia Caldara and Marco Pellegrino are still out due to injury.

Former AC Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali is fully recovered. The Italian international will start in the middle of the park with Sean Longstaff and Bruno Guimaraes on his flanks, given the unavailability of Joelinton. Up front, Alexander Isak is favored over Callum Wilson for the central striker role, while Aaron Gordon and Harvey Barnes are likely to start on the wings. At the back, Sven Botman will regularly play at the heart of the defense together with Fabian Schar, while Dan Burn will still be deployed at left back. Former Arsenal Joe Willock will miss due to an injury.
