OLYMPIAKOS v ARSENAL BETTING PREVIEW

Olympiakos and Arsenal are fighting for the 2nd position in the Group F. Bayern Munich are already assured of topping this group whilst Dinamo Zagreb will finish bottom. The Gunners must either win by at least 2 goals or match Olympiakos’ 3-2 winning margin in the reverse fixture to advance.

Olympiakos have a double digit lead in the Greek Super League after winning all 12 of their fixture this season and have only been beaten by Bayern Munich across all competitions (4-0 in Munich only a fortnight ago and 3-0 at home). They have scored 11 goals in their last three games and are more than capable of taking advantage of any mistakes as their opponents will have to push forward in search of goals.

The hosts will be without Giannis Maniatis and Andreas Gianniotis, while top goal scorer Felipe Pardo is a doubt. Centre-back Alberto Botia is a doubt though and would be a big loss. Kasami and Milivojevic are expected to play as double pivto while Ideye Brown is likely to start up front.

Arsenal returned to winning ways in the Premier League when they beat Sunderland 3-1 at the Emirates on Saturday. The Gunners sit 2nd in the standings, 2 points behind table toppers Leicester City. The were quite disappointing away from home in recent times, as they recorded a 2-1 defeat at West Brom and 1-1 draw at Norwich. Their previous fixture in CHampions League ended with a convincing 3-0 thrashing of Dinamo Zagreb.

Injuries to several key players will make this game even harder for Arsene Wenger's men. Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Alexis Sanchez, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky are all sidelined. The Gunners are reportedly training Calum Chambers to play in front of the back four in the absence of Mikel Arteta and Coquelin and he could replace Mathieu Flamini in the starting XI here. Joel Campbell is set to retain his starting berth in the offensive midfield trio.

Arsenal have never failed to make it past the first group stage of this tournament this millennium but they have lost on their three previous visits to the Karaiskakis Stadium.
