Norwich prepared for their third-round clash with the Premier League champions by beating Millwall 2-1 at home, a third game unbeaten in a row. Anyway, they have been up and down the Championship table and lack of consistency has already put the out of the promotion race. The Canaries currently sit 13th in the Championship and have won just two of their last 10 fixtures in front of their own fans. Chelsea conceded a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Wednesday night and now sit 3rd in the Premier League standings, one point shy of Manchester UTD. The Blues have been in a good run of form of late, unbeaten in their last seven games, a run that includes victory over Huddersfield, Southampton, Bournemouth, Brighton and Stoke City. Chelsea are unbeaten in the last 13 matches against Norwich in all competitions, 10 wins and 3 draws.
Antonio Conte is likely to select a changed side after a jam-packed festive period schedule. He will look to rest several first-team players, including the likes of Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante. Striker Michy Batshuayi may get a rare run-out, replacing Alvaro Morata upfront. Willian and Pedro are likely to support the Belgian forward.
