Chelsea vs Liverpool Betting Preview
Chelsea enter this mouth-watering clash on the back of a 3-0 Premier League win over Leeds UTD on Wednesday. As a result, the Blues have cemented their third place in the league table and almost secured Champions League football next season. Their route to the FA Cup final has been laboured. The Blues beat Chesterfield 5-1 but then needed extra-time to see off Plymouth 2-1. In the following rounds, Chelsea came from behind twice to beat Luton 3-2 and eased past Middlesbrough 2-0. In the semifinals, Thomas Tuchel's men knocked out Crystal Palace. They Blues are obviously the underdogs here but they will do their best to avenge February’s penalty shootout loss to the Reds in the EFL Cup decider.
Having beaten Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park last Tuesday, Liverpool could yet complete the quadruple, although a 1-1 draw with Tottenham at the weekend severely dented their chances of winning the Premier League. They trail Manchester City by three points in the league standings, with two matchweeks left. As to the FA Cup, Jurgen Klopp's men eased past Shrewsbury 4-1 in the third round and were given few worries by Cardiff in a 3-1 home victory. They recorded a hard fought win over Norwich (2-1) and narrowly beaten Nottigham Forest (1-0). Finally, the Reds reached the final by eliminating Manchester City 3-2 in the semis, courtesy of a gift from Man City's reserve goalkeeper Zach Steffen.
Chelsea and Liverpool have already met three times this season, and all three matches ended in a draw. Their first encounter, a Premier League game back in August, ended 1-1 at Anfield. In February's EFL Cup final, Liverpool won on penalties after no goals were scored in 120 minutes. They recenty locked horns in the league at Stamford Bridge when the entertaining game ended 2-2.

Probable Line-Ups
Chelsea (3-4-2-1): Mendy; Silva, Rudiger, Azpilicueta; James, Kante, Mount, Alonso; Pulisic, Werner; Havertz
Thomas Tuchel claimed it would take a “miracle” for Mateo Kovacic to recover in time from Dan James’ horror tackle. As a result, Mason mount should partner N'Golo Kantè in the engine room (even if the Frenchman is not 100% fit), allowing Christian Pulisic starting up front alongside the German duo Timo Werner and Kai Havertz. Alteratively, Tuchel can give Romelu Lukaku a starting berth as the Belgian has recently returned to scoring form. Reece James and Marcos Alonso are expected to start as wing-backs while Thiago Silva shoul feature from the off in the three man backline.
Liverpool (4-3-3): Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, van Dijk, Konatè, Thiago, Keita, Henderson, Salah, Mane, Diaz.
Fabinho is now a huge doubt after going down with a hamstring issue during last night’s Premier League meeting with Aston Villa. Naby Keita should replace the Brazilian midfielder. Jurgen Klopp left out the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcantara and Mo Salah at Villa Park ahead of the FA Cup final. All of tem will probably start here. Roberto Firmino has fully recovered from a foot complaint but the front trio is likely to be formed by Luis Diaz, Mo Salah and Sadio Manè.
Our Chelsea vs Liverpool Predictions
120 minutes of football wasn't enough to separate the two sides in the Carabao Cup final on February and these two teams shared the spoils in both Premier League direct encounters this season. In recent weeks, both teams have looked a bit tired and open at the back. Hence, we back a scoring draw after 90 minutes (1-1 and 2-2 our recommended scorelines). And if you are wondering which team will lift the cup, we recommend to take advantage of William Hill price boost - 40/1 Chelsea to lift the trophy. The FA Cup Final is the marquee match in English football this month and there is no shortage of new betting sites offering free bets or promo codes to bet on it.
