The situation at Old Trafford is becoming increasingly tense

Manchester United endured a rotten pre-season in which they mostly played with second choice players and academy youngsters. They started with a 1-1 draw against Club America and AC Milan, plus a goalless draw with San Jose Earthquakes. The Red Devils lost 4-1 at the hands of Liverpool and 1-0 against Bayern Munich, with their sole victory - a 2:1 success over Real Madrid - sandwiched between those two defeats. It is difficult to see Man United making a flying start to the season with an emphatic win considering how mediocre they have looked in pre-season. Anyway, Josè Mourinho's men secured a comfortable 2-0 win over the Foxes at Old Trafford last term.

Josè Mourinho is dealing with an injury crisis - Nemanja Matic, Marcos Rojo, Diogo Dalot and Antonio Valencia above all - and the fact a whole host of their key men have only just returned to training following the World Cup, including Romelu Lukaku. Ander Herrera and Eric Bailly picked up knocks in the friendly with Bayern on Sunday, but are expected to recover in time. The likes of Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard, Marouane Fellaini and Paul Pogba were the latest to return to training following their World Cup exploits so are unlikely to make it beyond the bench. As a result, Alexis Sanchez, Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford are expected to start up front.

Leicester City can upset the Red Devils despite a poor H2H record

Leicester finished ninth last season following a poor end that saw them losing five of their last seven matches of the campaign andwinning only 3 of their last 14. The Foxes registered a series of mixed results over the summer. The Foxes played 5 pre-season friendlies and managed to win only twice - at Notts County and against Lille. In the middle of these matches, they drew with Akhisarspor and Valencia, and suffered a defeat at the hands of Udinese. Leicester City have not won on any of their last 10 visits to Old Trafford and managed to win only one of the latest 20 meetings with the Red Devils in all competitions.

Club star Riyad Mahrez moved to Manchester City during the summer but Claude Puel has signed Danny Ward, Ricardo Pereira, James Maddison and ex-Red Jonny Evans. The Foxes signed Rachid Ghezzal as Riyad Mahrez's replacement earlier this week but he may have to settle for a place on the bench here. England internationals Harry Maguire and Jamie Vardy returned to training this week and there are doubts about their match fitness. Kelechi Iheanacho has scored four goals in three pre-season games so should lead the line and allow Vardy time to recover.
