50/1 Arsenal to beat Manchester UTD
Manchester UTD v Arsenal betting preview
Man UTD are once again struggling to make any impression on the top fourManchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat at West Ham last weekend and currently sit 11th in the Premier League table with 8 points in 6 matches and a record of W2 D2 L2. Pressure in mounting on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they could not beat Rochdale at home this week in the Carabao Cup, progressing only on penalties after drawing 1-1 in normal time. In Europa League, the Red Devils opened their campaign by narrowly beating FC Astana 1-0 at Old Trafford. As to direct encounters, Manchester UTD are unbeaten in their last 12 Premier League matches at home to Arsenal. Last season, this fixture ended 2 – 2 with Arsenal twice leading.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Paul Pogba is a doubt for Monday with an ankle issue. The Frenchman could join Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Eric Bailly and Diogo Dalot on the sidelines. Mason Greenwood could be handed his first league start of the season. Alternatively, one of Daniel James or Jesse Lingard could potentially deputise as a false nine. Elsewhere, the likes of David de Gea, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Scott McTominay and Juan Mata should all return to the starting XI after being handed breathers.
Arsenal haven’t won on any of their last 12 Premier League trips to the Theatre Of DreamsArsenal enter this clash high on confidence, after coming from behind to win 3-2 at home to Aston Villa last week, having played the whole of the second half with 10 men. They also made an excellent start to their Europa League season, beating Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 to go joint-top of their group. The Gunners’ only defeat this term has been away to rampant Liverpool. Anyway, their defence has managed just one clean sheet in their last 11 Premier League games which will give Man United some hope.
Alexandre Lacazette is nearing a return from an ankle injury but will not be ready to feature at Old Trafford. Kieran Tierney, signed from Celtic for £25m during the summer, is likely to make his first Premier League start after debuting against Forest. Hector Bellerin returned from a long-term Achilles tendon injury but will iss the match. Joe Willock is another option in the hole or even further back in central midfield. Up front, Nicolas Pèpè and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be the attacking duo. Reiss Nelson and Bukayo Sako would come back into contention if their manager decides to go with wingers, while Dani Ceballos may have the edge over Mesut Ozil for the number ten position.
