LIVERPOOL vs ROMA BETTING PREVIEW
Liverpool qualified for the semifinals after knocking out Manchester City 5-1 on aggregate. The Reds let slip a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at West Brom in Saturday’s Premier League match. Despite the draw, Liverpool are almost certain to finish in the top four this season. Furthermore, Jurgen Klopp's men are yet to lose at Anfield in the Premier League and the Champions League this season. They have scored 19 home Champions League goals this season and scored at least twice in all but one of their six games.
The Merseysiders will be without Adam Lallana, Joel Matip and Emre Can, although Dejan Lovren should return and Joe Gomez is a possibility for a place in the squad. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Roberto Firmino were all rested last time out and are expected to feature from the off here. Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah both started against West Brom and are expected to retain their berth. Nathaniel Clyne has a muscle problem and is a doubt.
Roma upset the odds in the extreme to overturn a 4-1 first leg defeat against Barcelona in the quarter finals. Kostas Manolas’ 82nd minute goal wrapped up a 3-0 victory for Roma on the night, and with the aggregate score tied at 4-4 that mean Roma went through courtesy of the away goals rule. They have warmed up for this clash by seeing off SPAL (0-3) at the weekend, defending their 3rd place in the Serie A standings. Roma have already faced English opposition twice this season, en route to topping Group C. Roma drew 3-3 at Chelsea before beating the Blues 3-0 in the reverse fixture. Anyway, the Giallorossi have won just once in 14 Champions League away matches. They have lost each of their last three away matches in this season’s competition – 2-0 at Atletico Madrid, 2-1 at Shakhtar Donetsk and 4-1 at Barcelona.
Diego Perotti has returned to fitness after a three-week absence but manager Eusebio Di Francesco is expected to give Patrick Schick another start in attack after a good performance last time out. Aleksandar Kolarov, Alessandro Florenzi, Daniele De Rossi and Edin Dzeko were all benched last weekend and are likely to return in the starting XI here. In midfield, Kevin Strootman and Radja Nainggolan will retain their starting berth with Alessandro Florenzi deployed as wing back on the right side. Rick Karsdorp and Gregoire Defrel reamin abesent through injury.
