CHELSEA vs ROMA BETTING PREVIEW
Chelsea have won their first two Champions League matches of the season - after picking up an impressive home win over Qarabag on matchday one, the Blues then surprised everyone with an away victory over Atletico Madrid. Domestically, Antonio Conte's men are struggling. They suffered a 2-1 away defeat at Crystal Palace (who was rock bottom with 0 points) at the weekend. Furthermore, a couple of disappointing home defeats against Manchester City and Burnley left them in 5th position, 9 points behind Man City.
Alvaro Morata is back from injury and should play from the off, while N’Golo Kante and Victor Moses are also missing with hamstring problems and Danny Drinkwater has a calf injury. Davide Zappacosta will start as right wing-back while the central midfield pair should be formed by Tiemoue Bakayoko and Cesc Fabregas. Up front, Eden Hazard and Pedro will be tucked in behind Morata, with Willian and Michy Batshuayi viable alternatives.
Roma are in second on four points after their goalles draw against Atletico Madrid on the opening night and a 2-1 away win over minnows Qarabag. Domestically, the Giallorossi were in good form. They had even beaten Milan at San Siro (2-0) a few days after their 2-1 victory at Qarabag, but last weekend Eusebio Di Francesco's men suffered a 1-0 home loss against Napoli, a result that ended a five-match win streak in all competitions. They are now 5th in the Serie A standings, Roma have won only one of their 15 away games in England, losing nine.
Di Francesco is short of options up front as Stephan El Shaarawy and Patrik Schick are sidelined while Gregoire Defrel is not 100% fit. Greek defender Kostas Manolas was subbed off just after half time and is not expected to recover in time. He will be replaced by Federico Fazio. In midfield, Kevin Strootman is a major doubt and Maxime Gonalos is on standby. Up front, the likes of Edin Dzeko, Alessandro Florenzi and Diego Perotti will retain their starting berth.
