CHELSEA v TOTTENHAM BETTING PREVIEW
Last Saturday Chelsea lost their match in Premier League against Manchester United, the team that Antonio Conte's men knocked out in the last round of the FA Cup (1-0). That was their 2nd defeat in the last 4 games as they were beaten at home by Crystal Palace few weeks ago. The Blues have not kept a clean sheet in the last five games but they have conceded no goals in their last 3 matches in the FA Cup against Man UTD, WOlves and Brentford.
Thibaut Courtois is a doubt after he missed the Manchester United clash with an ankle problem. Marcos Alonso limped out of the warm-up at Old Trafford due to illness but he is expected to return. Gary Cahill, Diego Costa and Victor Moses are all doubts and could be rested for the final rush in the league. Pedro could replace Moses on the right, with Willian pushed forward.
Tottenham have won their last seven Premier League matches and have cut Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table from 10 points to just four. Anyway, Mauricio Pochettino's men have underwhelmed at Wembley in Europa League this season, with their only win coming against CSKA Moscow late last year. Spurs won 2-0 the last time the teams met back in January at White Hart Lane, though the Blues recorded a 2-1 success at Stamford Bridge in November. That was only the second victory over Chelsea in the last 16 meetings (D7 L7).
Mauricio Pochettino could revert to a three-man defence here, with Son Heung-min making way for Victor Wanyama in midfield and three man backline formed by Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen. Up front, Harry Kane will lead the line with Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen behind his shoulders. The likes of Kyle Walker and Ben Davies are expected to play as wing backs. Danny Rose, Erik Lamela and Harry Winks remain out through injury.
