Arsenal vs Tottenham Betting Preview
Arsenal have enjoyed a good start of the season so far. The Gunners are 2nd in the Premier League standings with 4 wins and one draw (2-2 at home against Fulham) so far. Mikel Arteta’s men beat Everton 0-1 in their last domestic game, before thumping PSV 4-0 in their Champions League opener in midweek. In their previous two outings at home, Arsenal beat 2-1 Nottingham Forest and 3-1 Manchester UTD.
Tottenham boast an identical record in the Premier League after five games, and have a better goal difference than their North London rivals. A surprising start for a team that lost its skipper Harry Kane this summer. They were able to beat Sheffield United 2-1 in their most recent top-flight outing, courtesy of two late goals scored by Kulusevski and Richarlison in the 10th minute of added time. Spurs have already played three games on the road - after a 2-2 draw at Brentford they beat both Bournemout h (0-2) and Burnley (2-5).
Spurs have won just once at Emirates in the Premier League this century (back in 2010). Arteta's men have triumphed in four of the last five meetings against Tottenham, including the two direct encounters last season.
Best Odds
Arsenal are 15/13 favorites with SportNation to get all three points here. The away win is backable at 13/5 with Spreadex. The same bookmaker is offering the best price for the match to finish in a draw (14/5).
Probable Line-Ups
Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Vieira; Saka, Jesus, Trossard
Gabriel Martinelli is a doubt for the hosts, having missed the win over PSV due to a hamstring injury, and will be replaced by Leandro Trossard. The likes of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus will complete the front trio, with Eddie Nketiah providing a further option. In midfiel Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard are sure to start, while Fabio Vieira is favorite over Kai Havertz for the remaining berth. With Jurrien Timber still sidelined, Gabriel Magalhaes is expected to partner William Saliba at the heart of the backline, with Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko as full backs. Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny are both injured.
Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Sarr, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison
Ivan Perisic was confirmed to have sustained a "complex" ACL injury in training and will only retrn on the pitch next year. The Croatian international joins Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gil, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ryan Sessegnon and Alfie Whiteman on the visitors' injury list. As a result, Ange Postecoglu is expected to keep faith in most of his regular starters. The only change could see Richarlison replacing Manor Solomon up front, with Son Heung Min moved in the offensive midfield trio alongside James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski. Former Nopttm Forest striker Brennan Johnson provides a further alternative. The likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie and Micky van de Ven will all make their North London debuts at the back.
Our Arsenal vs Tottenham Predictions
After a below par performance last weekend, Arsenal ran riot in midweek against PSV in Champions League, confirming they are a serious contender for the title.
Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham are the surprise package of the season so far and will be fresher than their opponents, as they are not playing European football this year.
Anyway, the Gunners look a very solid unit and we expect them to end Spurs' unbeaten run at Emirates.
A 2-0 Arsenal victory is our prediction, with Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus as possibile goalscorers.
