Chelsea vs Leicester Betting Preview  

Chelsea are yet to find the winning formula since Lampard’s appointment

After their opening loss to Manchester United (4-0) in the Premier League and their midweek UEFA Super Cup loss on penalties to Liverpool, pressure is already mounting on Frank Lampard. Anyway, the Blues looked a much improved side in Istanbul. Their record at Stamford Bridge last season comprised of 12 wins, 6 draws and 1 defeat and the sole loss came against Sunday's opponents Leicester. Plus, the Blues have failed to score in their last three league matches against the Foxes.

Antonio Rudiger and Willian are both in contention to return after making the bench in the Super Cup on Wednesday. Kurt Zouma most likely to miss out should the German international come back into the starting line-up this weekend. After missing the Premier League opening match, Christian Pulisic nor N'Golo Kante were real bright points against Liverpool on Wednesday and should start here. Anyway, the former Borussia Dortmund winger is in contention with Mason Mount. Ross Barkley provides a further option. Olivier Giroud's showing against Liverpool will likely see him get the nod over Tammy Abraham while Michy Batshuayi appears to be third-choice in the pecking order in attack. The likes of Rubern Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi remain out through injury.

Leicester started their season with a 0-0 draw at home to Wolves. Brendan Rodgers' side enjoyed more than 70% possession during the game but struggled to create clear-cut chances, recording just one shot on target across the 90 minutes. On their travels last season Leicester won 7, drew 4 and lost 8. They have lost 2 of their 5 Premier League away days since Rodgers took charge, and one of those came against Manchester City. As to direct matches, Leicester are unbeaten in normal time in their last 4 meetings with the Blues. The last four meetings between these sides have been rather turgid affairs, with just four goals scored.

Rodgers is likely to make changes to his side for the trip to Chelsea, with Hamza Choudhury the most likely to make way in midfield. Dennis Praet, a deadline day recruit for the Foxes, is hoping for a first appearance for the Foxes while Harvey Barnes could come into the side on the left flank should Rodgers go for a more offensive style. Demarai Gray didn't make the 18-man squad against Wolves and looks less likely to feature. Turkish centre-back Caglar Soyuncu looks set to partner Jonny Evans at the back again. Nampalys Mendy is the only injury concern for the visitors.
