Chelsea vs Bayern Munich betting preview
Chelsea are unbeaten the last five Champions League matchesChelsea come into the match on the back of a 2-1 win over Tottenham. They now sit 4th in the Premier League standings, with a thre points margin over Man UTD, 4 over Spurs and Sheff UTD. Anyway, prior to that, Frank Lampard's men were winless in 4 league matches (D2 L2) and were beaten by Manchester UTD for the third time this season. The Blues finished second behind Valencia in group H. They were beaten by Los Che in the opening game (0-1 at home) but recorded 3 wins and two draws (4-4 against Ajax and 2-2 at Valencia).
The hosts are set to be without N'Golo Kante who is out for three weeks, but Tammy Abraham came off the bench at the weekend and should lead the line, altough Olivier Giroud was impressive against Tottenham. Willian is also likely to get the nod over Ross Barkley, but Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi are likely absentees through injury. In defense, Cesar Azpilicueta should retain his spot in a back three alongside Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. Goalkeeper Willy Caballero looks to have done enough to retain his place ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Bayern have a 100% winning record in the UCL so farBayern Munich have won all the six Champions League games in the group stage and are looking to build on a seven-match unbeaten streak we’ve seen in 2020 (W6 D1). They enter this clash on the back of a 3-2 home win against Paderborn and have scored three or more goals in 6 of their seven outings this year. The only exception was a goalless draw against RB Leipzig in the league. The Bavarians lead the Bundesliga table with a single point margin over Leipzig and boast the joint best offensive record in Germany (65 goals scored in 23 games). Tuesday's contest will mark the second time that Bayern have made the trip to London in under six months after thrashing Spurs by a 7-2 scoreline during the group stages.
The visitors are set to be without Ivan Perisic and Leon Goretzka. Javi Martinez is set to return from injury after a six-game spell out with a torn muscle bundle but he is not expected to feature from the off. Lucas Hernandez is back to full fitness, meaning that Jerome Boateng is expected to drop out of the team. Up front, Robert Lewandowski will spearhead the attack, supported by Serge Gnabry and Philippe Coutinho although Thomas Muller and Kingsley Coman are pushing for a start ahead of the Brazilian ace.
