ATLETICO MADRID v BAYERN MUNICH BETTING PREVIEW
Atletico Madrid started their 2016/2017 Champions League with an away win over PSV (0:1) at the Philips Stadion. They remain unbeaten this season and they have conceded just two goals in all competitions so far. Anyway, they drew their opening two La Liga games against Alaves and Leganes and sit third in the league standings, two point behind Real Madrid.Diego Simeone has a number of injuries but this should not be a problem for his starting XI. The likes of Saul Niguez and Stevan Savic were rested last time out and should start this time. Antoine Griezmann and Kevin Gameiro are expected to lead the line. Goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya, centre back Jose Gimenez, midfielders Tiago and Augusto Fernandez, and winger Alessio Cerci are all out through injury.
Bayern Munich mantained their 10% winning record this season, with a last-gasp 1-0 away win over Hamburger last weekend. They have scored 20 goals in six matches since the start of the Bundesliga campaign, conceduing just one goal this season. Their impressive streak includes a 5-0 win in their Champions League opener against FC Rostov. Anyway, Bayern have lost five of their last ten trips away in the Champions League.
Regular starters as Arturo Vidal, Xabi Alonso and Franck Ribery were all rested in the league and will probably start here. The Frenchman should partner Thomas Muller and Robert Lewandowski up front. Joshua Kimmich is expected to be the third starting midfielder alongside Alonso and Vidal. The likes of Holger Badstuber and winger Douglas Costa are expected to miss out for the Bavarians while Jerome Boateng and Arjen Robben have returned to fitness.
