ARSENAL v LINCOLN CITY BETTING PREVIEW
Arsenal enter this match on the back of another heavy defeat against Bayern Munich in Champions League. Theo Walcott opened the score at the Emirates, but finally the game ended 1-5 which amounted to 10-2 aggregate. Now Arsene Wenger's men are running on a poor form of 5 defeats and 2 victories in their last 5 games in all competitions. They sit 5th in the Premier League standings, 16 points behind league leaders Chelsea and 2 behind 4th placed Liverpool, with one game in hand. As a result, their only remaining chance of silverware this season is the FA Cup.
Arsene Wenger will be cautious not to suffer another embarassment this weekend and will field a strong team. Anyway, David Ospina set to keep his place from midweek and the likes of Rob Holding, Jeff Reine-Adelaide and Ainsley Maitland-Niles in line for a start. The likes of Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi are struggling with illness that kept them out of their clash with Bayern Munich in midweek and both remain doubts while Mohamed Elneny and Santi Cazorla are out through injury.
Lincoln City have lost just once in their 16 matches since the start of January and suffered just two defeats since the start of October. They are the first non-league club to reach the FA Cup quarter finals since 1914. The Imps' quest in the competition saw them dumping Gisele, Altrincham, Oldham Athletic, plus Championship sides Ipswich Town and Brighton out before their stunning 1-0 win at Premier League Burnley last month. Against the Clarets at Turf Moor, Lincoln produced an exemplary defensive performance to keep the hosts out before Sean Raggett scored an 89th-minute winner. Sean Dyche's side have amassed as many points at home as Arsenal in the Premier League this season!
Danny Cowley is not expected to make many changes to the side that has got him this far in the competition. The Imps have strengthened their squar with the additions of left-back Riccardo Clader and goalkeeper Ross Etheridge on loan and the pair have both been cleared by their parent clubs to play in the FA Cup. Another loanee, Lee Angol, who netted a hat-trick in their match against Braintree Town on Tuesday, is ineligible to face the Gunners. Nathan Arnold came off the bench to score the fourth in that midweek win and is likely to be restored to the starting XI.
