Ajax vs Tottenham betting preview  

Ajax have won their last five matches in all competitions

Ajax beat Willem II 4-0 to win the KNVB Cup final over the weekend and extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches (9 wins, 1 draw). The Dutch outfit grabbed a narrow 1-0 win away at London a week ago and have already knocked European heavyweights Real Madrid and Juventus out of the tournament. Anyway, they have lost the home leg of the Madrid tie in the last 16 and drew against Juventus at the Johan Cruyff ArenA in the quarter-finals, only to recover away from home in the second legs. The Godenzonen are chasing an unprecented treble, as they lead the way at the top of Eredivisie on goal difference with two games to go.

Ajax go into the second leg with only Hassane Bande and Carel Eiting missing from their squad. Hence, manager Erik Ten Hag, who rotated the squad for Sunday, can field his best starting XI. The only place up for grabs is likely to be at right-back, where Joel Veltman got the nod over Noussair Mazraoui in the first leg. Dusan Tadic will play as false nine, flanked by Hakim Ziyech and David Neres. First leg goalscorer Donny Van De Beek will start in midfield along with Lasse Schone and Frenkie De Jong.

Tottenham have lost their last four away fixtures in a row

Tottenham have lost 1-0 to Bournemouth last Saturday, suffering their fifth defeat in their last six matches across all competitions. Furthermore, Spurs have lost nine of their last 10 on the road, with the exception a 1-0 Champions League win at Borussia Dortmund. However, a top-four spot in the Premier League has been effectively assured of thanks to disappointing draws for Manchester United and Arsenal at the weekend. Ajax have conceded six goals in the last three Champions League home matches, so the Spurs are expected to bag at least one goal for the 11th successive away game in this competition.

Harry Kane remain out through injury but Son Heung-Min is available following his ban and he should feature from the off. The South Korean is expected to be supported by Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen as offensive midfielders, with Lucas Moura providing a further option. Jan Vertonghen suffered a nasty injury after a collision with Andre Onana in the first leg, but is likely to partner Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez in the three man backline. Victor Wanyama and Moussa Sissoko will anchor the midfield.  Harry Winks (hip) is out while there are also doubts over Serge Aurier and Erik Lamela, who both have hamstring injuries.
