West Ham look re-energized after an impressive win at Goodison Park

West Ham suffered four consecutive defeats in the first four fixtures but finally grabbed their first points of the Premier League season last week with a shock 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park. They have lost both of their Premier League games at the London Stadium so far - 1:2 to Bournemouth and 0:1 to Wolves - and have had some major issues defensively, conceding already 11 goals this season. Manuel Pellegrini's men have progressed in the EFL Cup, beating 3-1 AFC Wimbledon on the travel.

Jack Wilshere is set to miss West Ham's match against Chelsea with an ankle injury, while Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic are still a doubt. Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson will surely keep their place as offensive wingers with Michail Antonio back up option. In midfield, Declan Rice is favourite over Carlos Sanchez to partner the likes of Mark Noble and Pedro Obiang. Winston Reid, Manuel Lanzini and Andy Carroll are long-term absentees.

Chelsea are looking to win their opening six league games for the third time in their history

Chelsea have won their first five Premier League games and are flying right now. Last weekend they quickly recovered from going a goal down at home to Cardiff, eventually smashing the newly promoted outfit 4-1 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues continued their outstanding start to the season, enjoying a 1-0 victory over PAOK in their first Europa League fixture this week. Conceding just four goals so far shows that they are defensively strong, while the 14 goals that they have scored is equal best in the league with Manchester City. As to direct encounters, Chelsea have lost three of their last four away games against their London rivals.

Eden Hazard and Mateo Kovacic will return to the team after being rested.  in midweek. Cesc Fabregas and Ruben Loftus-Cheek returned from injury against PAOK but will likely have to settle for a place on the bench at best. Pedro is not 100% fit and could be replaced by William. In defense, Cesar Azpilicueta and David Luiz are expected to return to the starting XI at the expenses of Davide Zappacosta and Andreas Christensen. Emerson Palmieri lacks match fitness and will miss out.
