USA v GERMANY BETTING PREVIEW

If this game ends in a draw, both Germany and the United States will advance. Similarly, if the other final Group G game, Ghana vs. Portugal, which will be played simultaneously, ends in a draw, Germany and the United States will advance regardless of their result. If Germany and the U.S. tie, Germany would advance as the number one seed from Group G based on a superior goal differential.

After beating Ghana 2-1 on their first match, the USA took on Portugal last Sunday. They were 60 seconds from qualifying for the Round of 16 at World Cup 2014, only for a brilliant cross from Cristiano Ronaldo to break up that dream, as Portugal tied the U.S. 2-2 in their Group G match on Sunday night. Now they need to protect their goal difference just to make sure to advance.

Jozy Altidore will be sidelined once again due to injury, while Matt Besler is fit to start after recovering from a hamstring concern. Despite being at fault for Nani's goal, Geoff Cameron is expected to keep his place in the team.

Germany top this group on goal difference and whilst they are not yet guaranteed a top two finish. They made short work of Portugal, handing out a 4-0 hiding in their first action of the tournament but they had to dig far deeper in a subsequent 2-2 draw with Ghana when Miroslav Klose scored his 15th World Cup goal to tie Brazilian hero Ronaldo for the all-time record

Jerome Boateng is expected to miss out having come off at half time in the 2-2 draw with Ghana. Shkodran Mustafi will likely start at right-back. Khedira and Schweinsteiger are in contention for a starting berth while Klose will be once again benched. Muller, Ozil and Klose will be the offensive trio.

The USA have scored in each of their last eight World Cup matches while the Germans have scored in 19 of their last 20 World Cup matches. A 'Both teams to score' miht be the safest bet.
