Tottenham v Bayern Munich betting preview
Spurs have won only three of their nine matches this seasonTottenham have generally made a pretty underwhelming start to the season. They enter this clash on the back of a hard-fought victory over Southampton (2:1), despite they were reduced to 10 men for the majority of the game. Mauricio Pochettino's men now sit 5th in the league, already 10 point behind Liverpool (who have won all the 7 matches). As to cups, the Spurs were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by League Two club Colchester earlier this season, and only managed to drew 2-2 at Olympiakos in their first Champions League group stage match.
Pochettino remains without the services of summer arrival Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon due to injuries. Christian Eriksen and Son Heung Min are expected to support Harry Kane up fron, although Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela are pushing for a start. The likes of Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele should anchor the midfield, with Ben Davies is favourite over Danny Rose for the left back berth. Serge Aurier should start o the other flank, with Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen the preferred pair at the center.
Bayern have failed to win just one of their last six matchesBayern Munich are fresh of an unconvincing 3-2 victory over Paderborn, a result that saw them moving to the top of the table in the German Bundesliga. They boast a one point lead over a bunch of five teams - RB Leipzig, Freiburg, Schalke 04, Borussia M'Gladbach and Bayer Leverkusen. Their only slip in the last 6 outings was a 1-1 draw at Leipzig. The Bavarians opened their Champions League account a fortnight ago with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Red Star Belgrade.
Lucas Hernandez is a doubt for the Bundesliga outfit, meaning that David Alaba has no competition at left-back. Ivan Perisic will also be assessed and it could be that Kingsley Coman starts on the left against the Spurs. Philippe Coutinho and Serge Gnabry should both feature in an offensive midfielder position behind the lone striker Robert Lewandowski. The likes of Joshua Kimmich and Thiago Alcantara should feature from the off in the engine room while Benjamin Pavard, Niklas Sule and Jerome Boateng will complete the backline.
