MIAMI DOLPHINS vs NEW ORLEANS SAINTS BETTING PREVIEW
Miami Dolphins are sitting at 1-1 thus far with a postponed game versus the Buccaneers. They very impressing in their 19-17 win over the Chargers in Los Angeles two weeks ago. However, they followed up that victory with an embarrassing 20-6 loss to the New York Jets in week 3. They converted 1 of 12 third downs and didn't score until the final play of that match. The Dolphins lead the all-time series against the Saints, 6-5.
Jay Ajayi, who piled up 122 yards in the Chargers game but only 16 last time out, is dealing with a knee injury. Jay Cutler has been mediocre so far. At first glance, his numbers seem respectable: 64.9 percent completions, 450 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. A deeper look, though, reveals that Cutler isn't testing teams down the field; he averaged just 5.0 yards per attempt against New York, bringing his season totals down to 5.8.
New Orleans Saints enter this matchup with a 1-2 record so far, falling to Minnesota 29-19 and New England 36-20 in the first two matches. Anyway, the Saints are coming off their best effort of this season, a 34-13 victory at previously unbeaten Carolina last week. In that game, quarter-back Drew Brees went 22-of-29 for 220 yards and three touchdowns.
Outside of Brees, though, the Saints are a team still looking for an identity. He has been sacked just 3 times, even while missing injured starting tackles Terron Armstead and Zach Strief. Wide receiver Willie Snead returns to the team after missing the first 3 games due to a league suspension.
