PSG v LYON BETTING PREVIEW
PSG, who won Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France last season, have enjoyed a terrific pre-season. They secured victory in the International Champions Cup by virtue of a 2-0 defeat of Manchester United in Chicago on Thursday. Eintracht Frankfurt stopper Kevin Trapp and Tottenham midfielder Benjamin Stambouli are the only new signings but the club is in the process to acquire Man UTD's Angel Di Maria.
Thiago Motta has publicly expressed his desire to join Atletico Madrid will sit out the meeting while Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi are not yet match fit. Parisian-born Jean-Kévin Augustin - who impressed during PSG's American Tour - may be rewarded with a starting spot. David Luiz and Edinson Cavani could all return to the starting lineup after starting on the bench against Manchester United.
Olympique Lyon's form in pre-season has also been a cause for concern, with four defeats and one victory (against AC Milan) coming in five fixtures. They took part in the Emirates Cup where a 6-0 thrashing by Arsenal got them off to a bad start before a 2-0 loss to Villarreal concluded their miserable run.
Clément Grenier and Gueïda Fofana have both suffered serious injuries in pre-season. Lyon have added Guingamp forward Claudio Beauvue and Marseilles defender Jeremy Morel to their roster. Furthermore, they have succeeded in retaining key players such as Alexandre Lacazette, Samuel Umtiti and Nabil Fekir (who is suspended for this match).
Les Parisiens have won four of the last seven encounters, while Lyon have prevailed just the once in that time. Anyway, both of the two meetings in the league between PSG and OL last term ended in 1-1 draws.
