PSG vs Napoli betting preview  

PSG have lost only two of their last 48 European home matches

Paris Saint Germain bounced back from their opening defeat to Liverpool (3-2) at Anfield by thrashing Red Star Belgrade 6-1 to remain in contention. The match against the Reds remains their only defeat of the season and also the only time PSG have netted fewer than three goals in a game. Thomas Tuchel's men enter this match on the back of a 5-0 victory over Amiens last Saturday. Before the break PSG crushed third placed side Lyon by the same scoreline, meaning they have scored 16 goals in their last three outings in all competitions and have already opened up an eight point lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

PSG are expected to be without Marco Verratti for this match because of a harmstring injury. Other than that, the French outfit could be close to full strength. Brazilian duo Thiago Silva and Neymar also in line for a start having been rested at the weekend. The former will partner Presnel Kimpembè at the heart of the defense, the latter will complete a lethal offensive trio with Kylian Mbappè and Angel Di Maria behind the lone striker Edinson Cavani. In midfield, Lassana Diarra should feature from the off alongside Adrien Rabiot. Dani Alves and Layvin Kurzawa remain out through injury.

Napoli have won three on the bounce and looked rock solid in defense

After a disappointing draw in Belgrade against Red Star, Napoli secured a last-gasp win over Liverpool last time out courtesy of Lorenzo Insigne's 90th-minute strike. Domestically, the Partenopei sit 2nd in the Serie A standings, four points behind leaders Juventus. They defeated 3-0 Udinese on the travel last weeekend, their third consecutive win after a 3-1 loss in Turin against Juve. Carlo Ancelotti's men have kept three clean sheets in a row and, bar the Juventus game, conceded just one goal in the last 7 outings in all competitions.

The visitors also have injury concerns and will be hoping Insigne and Simone Verdi can shake off muscle problems. David Ospina will replace Orestis Karnezis between the posts while Nikola Maksimovic is likely to play at right back as he did against Liverpool, with Elseid Hysaj making room. Allan and Marek Hamsik will anchor the midfield, Jos Callejon will play as right winger while Piotr Zielinski and Fabian Ruiz are in contention for a starting berth on the other side. Lorenzo Insigne, Arkadiusz Milik and Dries Mertens are the three candidate for two starting spots up front. Vlad Chiriches is a long-term absence while Alex Meret and Faouzi Ghoulam are slowly returning to fitness.
