AC MILAN vs NAPOLI BETTING PREVIEW
AC Milan are without a win in three games and needed a late equaliser to grab a point against Sassuolo last weekend, thus failing to take advantage of the fact both Roma and Inter dropped points. They are 6th in the Serie A standings, too far back to challenge for fourth place now. Despite a very tough schedule, Rossoneri have suffered just one loss in their last ten outings at home. The Rossoneri have lost three of their last four games against Napoli at the Stadio San Siro.
Gennaro Gattuso will be without both first choice centre-backs this weekend as Leonardo Bonucci is suspended and Alessio Romagnoli is injured. Christian Zapata and Mateo Musacchio are expected to replace them, with Davide Calabria and Ricardo Rodriguez as full backs. Up front, Hakan Calhanoglu and Suso are expected to start out wide while the likes of Patrick Cutrone, Andrè Silva and Nikola Kalinic are in contention for the central forward role. In midfield, Frank Kessiè, Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura are likely to feature from the off.
Napoli come into this game having struggled against Chievo, securing a hard-fought 2-1 win courtesy of two last-gasp goal scored by Milik and Diawara. Anyway, a run of just two wins in five games has seen the Naples-based side toppled by Juventus, who now have a four-point cushion with seven games to play. The Partenopei have the strongest away record in the division, with 12 wins so far. They have also been rock solid defensively all season, conceding just just 21 goals in 31 fixtures. Only Juventus have done better. But Maurizio Sarri's men are struggling in front of the goal - they have only managed to score four goals in the last four games since their defeat to Roma in March.
Left back Mario Rui is suspended. As a result, Elsaid Hysaj will move on the left, with Christian Maggio featuring from the off on the right. Raul Albiol and Jorginho will return to the starting XI. The former will partner Kalidou Koulibaly at the heart of the back, the latter will complete the three man midfield with Marek Hamsik and Allan. Up front, Mertens is still favourite to play as central forward but Maurizio Sarri could decide to give Arkadius Milik a rare start in place of the Belgian. Lorenzo Insigne and Josè Callejon are likely to retain their starting berth upfront.
