Manchester UTD v Barcelona betting preview
Man UTD have lost three of their last four matches and their top-four hopes have driftedManchester UTD have improved under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's care but dropped back to sixth in the Premier League following their recent dip. The Red Devils are subsequently three points adrift of the top four domestically with only six games of their season remaining. Anyway, they will extremely confident for another major upset after their incredible recovery away to Paris Saint-Germain in the previous round when they came through despite losing 0-2 at home and being decimated by injuries. The 3-1 victory at Parc Des Prices in the 2nd leg was followed by defeats at Arsenal and Wolverhampton (both in the Premier League and FA Cup) and a narrow success over Watford (2-1).
United were able to welcome Marcus Rashford back to training on Tuesday and the English international is likely to lead the line alongside Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku. Alexis Sanchez has also recovered but he is expected to make the bench at maximum. In midfield, Scott McTominay should feature from the off while Nemanja Matic was an unused sub at the weekend and faces a race to be fit in time for Wednesday. In defense, Eric Bailly suffered a concussion while on international duty and has not featured since meaning that Chris Smalling should partner Victor Lindelof at the heart of the back.
Barcelona are unbeaten in their 16 matches in all competitionsBarcelona all but wrapped up the La Liga title on Saturday evening by beating Atletico Madrid 2-0 at the Camp Nou. They now top the table by 11 points and are on the cusp of securing back-to-back titles for the first time since 2011. Their recent 4-4 draw Villarreal — where they trailed 4-2 heading in the closing minutes — showed there are chinks in the armour to be exposed. The topsy-turvy eight-goal thriller was the only match in Barcelona's last nine that they have failed to win - a run which includes the 5-1 thumping of French outfit Lyon at home which ensured their place in the quarter-finals. The Blaugrana have already won on English soil this season courtesy of their 4-2 victory over Tottenham in the group stages.
There are also good news for Barcelona on the injury front as well with Ousmane Dembele reportedly fit enough to make the bench. Philippe Coutinho is the most likely to sit out should the Frenchman be deemed fit enough to start while Leo Messi and Luis Suarez look sure to feature from the off. Arturo Vidal and Brazilian midfielder Arthur are in contention for a starting berth in midfield as well as Sergi Roberto and Nelson Semedo will at right-back. Rafinha is sidelined while Samuel Umtiti has not looked overly convincing since returning from injury and could be replaced by Clement Lenglet
