Juventus v AC Milan betting preview
Juventus have lost only one of their last 11 Coppa Italia gamesBefore the break, Juventus won back to back Serie A games against Brescia (2-0 at home) and SPAL (2-1 away). The Bianconeri then lost to Lyon in Champions League (1-0 in France) and beat Inter Milan 2-0 in Turin in their last league fixture. In the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals, the Old Lady snatched a draw late on thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty back in February. The current Italian champions have also beaten the Rossoneri earlier this season in a 1-0 league win at the Allianz Stadium back in November.
Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain is set to miss the match after picking up an injury in training. Merih Demiral is the other long-term absentee in an otherwise full-strenght Juventus squad. Miralem Pjanic is expected to be restored as playmaker, with Blaise Matuidi and Rodrigo Betancur on his flanks. That would mean no starting place for Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot or Sami Khedira. In defense, Giorgio Chiellini is still out while Juan Cuadrado is favorite over Danilo for the right-back starting spot.
AC Milan have won only one of their last 6 matches in all competitions before the breakAC Milan have struggled this season but their performance have slightly improved since Stefano Pioli replaced Marco Giampaolo as manager and since the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The club are seventh in Serie A, out from European cups and the Coppa Italia remains their only chance to win silverware this season. A triumph would give Pioli's men the automatic access for next season's Europa League. In the last three outings before the football stopped, AC Milan beat Torino at home (1-0) and drew away against FIorentina 1-1. In their last outing, they suffered a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Genoa.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is out through injury having suffered a calf problem. Brazilian defender Leo Duarte is also out through injury, whilst Samu Castillejo and Theo Hernandez are suspended. Ante Rebic is likely to lead the line, with Lucas Paquetà and Hakan Calhanoglu behind the Croatian striker. In midfield, Ismaël Bennacer’s partner is likely to be Franck Kessié while Simon Kjaer and Alessio Romagnoli should form the centre-back pair. Andrea Conti and Dante Calabria should start as full backs.
