Chelsea v Manchester City betting preview

Chelsea have lost two of their last three games

Chelsea have slipped 10 points adrift of first place after taking just four points from the last available 12. The Blues are fresh off a 2-1 away defeat to strugglers Wolves. Prior to that, they managed to beat Fulham at home (2-0) but lost 3-1 at Tottenham and drew 0-0 against Everton at Stamford Bridge. Anyway, they remain unbeaten at Stamford Bridge this season, winning nine of their 12 home games in all competitions.

Maurizio Sarri reported a clean bill of health in Friday's press conference. The likes of Jorginho, David Luiz, Olivier Giroud and Pedro may return to the side after being rested on Wednesday while Mateo Kovacic or Ross Barkley could oust Ruben Loftus-Cheek from the starting XI. Marcos Alonso's place at left-back looks in mild peril after a drop-off in form of late with Emerson Palmieri ready to deputise for the Spaniard. Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta will retain their starting berth in defense, as well as N'Golo Kantè as playmaker.

Manchester City have won 13 and lost none of their opening 15 Premier League matches this season, failing to beat only Wolves and Liverpool. They have a record of W11-D1-L2 when taking on fellow Big Six sides since the start of last season. The Manchester club have been the best team in the league this season, and their level of domination is astonishing, not only in attack, but also defensively. The Citizens are unbeaten in their last 14 Premier League away matchesand came out on top in both encounters with this opposition last season. Furthermore, Pep Guardiola's men comfortably won the FA Community Shield clash between these clubs in August with a Sergio Aguero double.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne are both ruled out for Saturday's trip to Stamford Bridge. As a result, Gabriel Jesus should lead the line once again, with Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sanè competing for two starting berths on his flanks. Bernardo and David Silva are expected to partner Fernandinho in the middle of the park, with Ilkay Gundogan viable alternative. Fabian Delph should continue at left-back with Benjamin Mendy sidelined and Oleksandr Zinchenko recovering from a broken nose. Aymeric Laporte should feature from the off, paired with John Stones at the heart of the defense. Kevin De Bruyne and Eliaquim Managal remain sidelined.
