BORUSSIA DORTMUND v TOTTENHAM BETTING PREVIEW

Dortmund are stile 2nd in Bundesliga, five points behind Bayern Munich after a 0-0 draw with the German champions at the weekend, a draw which ended a run of four straight victories. BVB boast an impressive home record both in the league and in Europa League. They have scored 20 goals in their six European home games this term (W5 L1).

Dortmund are at virtually full-strength with only Sokratis Papastathopoulos unable to take his place. Ilkay Gundogan will start in midfield with Julian Weigl, Gonzalo Castro and Nuri Sahin all in contention. Roman Weidenfeller continues in Europe ahead of favoured Bundesliga choice Roman Burki. Marcel Schmelzer should start at left-back, but Joo-Ho Park is an option

After 6 consecutive victories, Tottenham lost away at West Ham and drew at home against Arsenal in the Premier League last week. They now sit 2nd in the Premier League standings, 5 points behind league leaders Leicester. Spurs have only lost once in eight European games in 2015-16 but their European road record reads a meagre W1-D2-L1 this term.

Spurs travel to Germany without both Danny Rose and Eric Dier while Dele Alli is absent through suspension. Christian Eriksen is likely to start in a number 10 role with Heung-min Son and Erik Lamela both pushing for places on the flanks. Ryan Mason could replace Mousa Dembele in midfield while Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies are expected to come into the side as part of the regular full-back rotation. Jan Vertonghen and Clinton Njie are still working on regaining fitness following knee injuries.

This will be the first meeting between the two sides in European competition. Borussia Dortmund have lost just one of their last eight matches at home to English sides in European competition.
