LINGFIELD RACECOURSELocated in Surrey and owned by the ARC Racing and Leisure Group, formerly Arena Leisure Plc., Lingfield racecourse hosts flat, jump and all-weather racing. Opened in 1890 by the Prince of Wales (later Edward VII), Lingfield the UK’s first All-Weather track back in 1989. It now also provides a 18-hole golf course and luxury spa hotel.
Full Address: Lingfield Park Racecourse, Racecourse Rd, Dormansland, Lingfield, Surrey RH7 6PQ.
The track is Polytrack - a much faster surface than Fibresand used at Southwell - rather than the usual turf found in the UK. Lingfield Park has three left handed race tracks: flat all-weather and turf courses plus a jumps track. All three are considered sharp tracks.
Lingfield’s left-handed all-weather track is laid out inside the turf track and, measuring just less than a mile and a quarter round, is essentially sharp in nature.
Predominantly flat, the left-handed flat course has a slight downhill turn in to the straight. Round course is about a mile and a half in length, which intersects the straight, of seven furlongs and one hundred and forty yards, nearly half a mile out.
The Jump course is left handed, undulating.
