AC Milan secured a 2-0 win away from home at Genoa on Monday and put behind them a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Juventus in last week's Italian Super Cup in Jeddah. The Rossoneri currently sit 4th in the Serie A table, 6 points shy of third placed Inter Milan and one point above Roma. They have tightened up at the back significantly in recent weeks, having conceded just three goals in the last 8 games.

Manager Gennaro Gattuso will be relieved that captain Alessio Romagnoli and right back Davide Calabria are both available following suspensions. Patrick Cutrone should be starting up top in the wake of Gonzolo Higuain's move to Chelsea with little time for new signing Krzysztof Piatek from Genoa to be integrated into the team. Samu Castillejo and Jose Mauri are pushing for starts after making cameos against Genoa on Monday but we expect Paquetà and Calhanoglu featuring from the off. Kalidou Koulibaily and Lorenzo Insigne should return from suspension whilst Allan will not travel with the team, since he is rumoured to move to PSG during this transfer session. Amadou Diawara should partner Marek Hamsik in the middle of the park, with Fabian Ruiz and Jose Callejon expected to start out wide altough Piotr Zielinski is pushing for a start. Arkadiusz Milik should get the nod over Dries Mertens for a starting berth upfront.
