West Ham vs Liverpool betting preview
West Ham are winless in their last four matches in all competitionsWest Ham enter this clash on the back of a dismal display against West Brom in the FA Cup. In the league they sit above the relegation zone on goal difference. David Moyes is back at the helm but the former Man UTD's manager has overseen just one league win since his return on New Year’s Day. Four outings since defeating Bournemouth and Gillingham in the first two matches of 2020 have yielded one draw, against Everton, and three defeats, by Sheffield United, Leicester City and WBA. The Hammers have now lost 13 of their last 20 games across all competitions, and since the start of October no team has gained fewer points than them.
The Hammers remain without the likes of Felipe Anderson, Ryan Fredericks, Andriy Yarmolenko and Jack Wilshere. Moyes also has question marks over Arthur Masuaku and Robert Snodgrass though the latter will be hopeful of being fit. Sébastien Haller, who has struggled in front of goal, could make way for Michail Antonio up front while Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Fornals should start as offensive midfielders. Captain Mark Noble and Angelo Ogbonna are among the players expected to come back into the starting lineup after being rested last time out.
Liverpool have recorded 14 consecutive Premier League wins on the bounceLiverpool have been almost faultless in the Premier League so far this season but were stunned by lower-league opposition at the weekend, recording a disappointing 2-2 draw against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup. The Reds are top of the Premier League with 67 points from 23 games, dropping just two points so far - a 1:1 draw against Manchester United. Jurgen Klopp's men sit 44 points ahead of the Hammers and whopping 19 point gap could be opened up on 2nd placed Man City with a win. As to direct encounters, the Merseysiders have scored four goals in four of their last five matches against West Ham
Sadio Mane may be required to sit out the trip to east London after picking up a thigh injury last time out, with Divock Origi or Takumi Minamino in line to replace him. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is another viable option for the front trio. James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri both remain unavailable having yet to return to training, with Adam Lallana also expected to be sidelined after suffering from a virus. Recent injury absentees Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Fabinho all started against Shrewsbury at the weekend and are available again for this match. Naby Keita was an unused substitute at the weekend and could play at some stage.
