WATFORD v MANCHESTER CITY BETTING PREVIEW
Watford have already achieved their primary objective, which is to retain Premier League status. The Hornets ave been on a fair distance from the relegation zone during the entire campaign.Anyway, they will come in the game in a poor shape as they lost five on the trot, including a 4-3 defeat last time out against Chelsea. Furthermore, they have lost their last 5 direct encounters against Manchester City in all competitions.Following the red card to Sebastian Prödl at Stamford Bridge in midweek, Walter Mazzarri has a massive problem at the back, as Craig Cathcart and Younes Kaboul are out through injury, Christian Kabasele and Miguel Britos both doubtful. Nordin Amrabat and Juan Zuniga may have to start in the wing-back positions while Abdoulaye Doucoure, Tom Cleverley and Etienne Capoue may all combine in central midfield. Up front, Troy Deeney is a slight doubt having been dealing with a hip problem this week but he is expected to lead the line, alongside M'Baye Niang. Stefano Okaka and Isaac Success are the other options in attack.
Manchester City are two points better off than Liverpool and three in front of Arsenal, and need to claim the victory here to secure the qualification to the group stage of Champions League in the next season. They have rediscovered their form by winning their last three home games, scoring 10 goals in the process. Altought, the Citizens have the second best away record in the top flight with 11 wins in 18 road trips, they have only tasted victory in one of the most recent six matches they have played away from the Etihad Stadium. City have won all of the last five matches between these clubs, four of them by a margin of two goals or more.
With no fresh injury concerns, Pep Guardiola is not expected to make many changes to his side. Vincent Kompany is expected to be fit, meaning that John Stone will be benched again. Fernandinho could continue at right-back, with Gael Clichy perhaps in line for a recall as left back. Gabriel Jesus was moved to the right wing against West Brom, with Sergio Aguero returning as the lone striker. Guardiola may stick with that combination, possibly leaving Leroy Sane, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne in the other three midfield slots. The likes of Ilkay Gundongan, Fabian delph and Claudio Bravo all remain sidelined.
