Tour De France Stage 13 betting tips, predictions, odds and free bets (Bourg d'Oisans > Valence - July 20, 2018)

Stage 13 of the Tour de France 2018 is 169.5km route from Bourg d'Oisans to Valence. After three days in the Alps, it's the only chance the sprinters will have for glory this week. TOUR DE FRANCE STAGE 13 BETTING PREVIEW 

The stage starts in Bourg d’Oisans near the base of Alpe d’Huez and zigzags its way west toward Valence. Only two categorized climbs are on tap for the day: a Category 3 after 32.5 km, and a Category 4 at 60km from the finish. The finale is played out on wide boulevards in Valence. The last kilometer drags uphill slightly, with one more roundabout placed just 350 meters from the finish.

There’s a very good chance this stage will end in a bunch sprint but there aren't many sprinters left in the race. Mark Cavendish and Marcel Kittel were both eliminated on Stage 11; and Andre Greipel, Fernando Gaviria, and Dylan Groenewegen all abandoned on Stage 12.

As a consequence Peter Sagan and now only John Degenkolb, Alexander Kristoff, Christophe Laporte, Arnaud Demare and Sonny Colbrelli really remain to fight things out.

Sagan has looked the best sprinter in this year's Tour, and the finish - whilst not perfect - will suit him well enough. Colbrelli has twice finished runner up in two bunch sprints and should be in the mix as well as Demare, who loves this kind of stages. John Degenkolb rediscovered form this year - he impressively won the Roubaix stage - and we expect the German to be more confident in bunch sprint this time.



Few chances for Edvald Boasson Hagen (unless he goes in the break), Max Richeze, Magnus Cort Nielsen, the former yellow jersey Greg Van Avermaet and Daryl Impey.

Since the best sprinters are already home, the breakaway riders will be eyeing up their chances. Energy is goind down and remaining sprinters' teams could struggle in chasing the attackers.

We mention a few names that could try to upset the sprinters - Jasper Stuyven, Thomas De Gendt, Lilian Calmejane, Stefan Küng, Tomasz Marczynski, Philippe Gilbert, Toms Skujinš and Yves Lampaert.
