SWANSEA vs ARSENAL BETTING PREVIEW
Swansea sit bottom of the table with 20 points from their first 24 fixtures and just 15 goals scored this season. Anyway, the Swans enter this match on the back of a stunning 1-0 win over high-flying Liverpool at home. They are unbeaten in the last five matches in all competitions and are now just three points adrift of safety. Carlos Carvalhal's men enter this clash on the back of a 1-1 away draw at Notts County in FA Cup. Prior to that, they progressed to the 4th round of the competition thanks to a 2-1 victory over Wolves at the Liberty Stadium on January 17th. Swansea are improving at the back - we have seen them concede just two goals in four outings across all competitions.
Carlos Carvalhal should play with a more familiar line up after shuffling his pack in FA Cup. The hosts will assess Renato Sanches' fitness before Tuesday after the midfielder picked up a hamstring injury last time out. Anyway, Tammy Abraham and Mike van der Hoorn are over their respective injury problems and will feature from the off. The former will play in a three man defense alongside Federico Fernandez and Alfie Mawson while the latter will form the offensive trio with Jordan Ayew and Nathan Dyer.
Arsenal are five points off the top four after their 4-1 home win over Crystal Palace on January 20th. Since then, the Gunners have reached the EFL Cup courtesy of 2-1 win against Chelsea in the semifinal 2nd leg match at Emirates Stadium. Their problem has been a very poor away record with Arsene Wenger's men losing five of their 12 league matches, and having won just one of their last seven away matches in all competitions. The Gunners are enjoying a three-match winning streak in head-to-head clashes against Swans and have won the last two direct encounters by an aggregate score of 7-0.
Arsene Wengers could have Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud back to bolster his attack but Alexandre Lacazette is expected to lead the line, while Mesut Ozil and new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan should be tucked behind the Frenchman in a 3-4-2-1 starting system. In midfield, Aaron Ramsey is in contention with Granit Xhaka for a starting berth alongside Jack Wilshere in midfield while Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Hector Bellerin are likely to retain their starting berth as wing backs. The likes of Laurent Koscielny, Shkodran Mustafi and Nacho Monreal will start at the back.
