Tottenham have won just two of their last seven matches in all competitions

Tottenham started life in their new ground with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Wednesday, a result that saw them regaining third position in the Premier League table, after a run of four defeats in five league games. In the Champions League, Mauricio Pochettino are unbeaten in six, winning four of their last five outings, including a hugely impressive 3-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley. In this season’s group stage, Spurs lost at home against Barcelona, before beating PSV and Inter Milan. Spurs are clearly the underdog here but Mauricio Pochettino has been afforded the advantage of a full week to prepare his players for the Champions League quarter-final 1st leg.

Pochettino will be without winger Erik Lamela and defender Serge Aurier because of harmstring injuries. The duo has joined Eric Dier on the sidelines while Fernando Llorente is a major doubt. Son Heung-Min and Lucas Moura both pushing for starts in attack alongside Harry Kane, while Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli should flank Moussa Sissoko in the middle of the park. The likes of Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose are likely to start as wing backs while Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen should form the three man backline.

Manchester City kept their quadruple hopes alive by beating Brighton 1-0 in the FA Cup semifinal last Saturday. They have already won the Carabao Cup and are just two points behind Liverpool in the Premier League with a game in hand. City are now aiming to avoid the same fate that befell them last season, when fellow English side Liverpool eliminated them at this very stage. The Citizens dropped points in two of their six matches in the group stage but comfortably topped Group F on 13 points to breeze into the next round, where they thumped Schalke 04 10-2 on aggregate. As to direct encounters, Pep Guardiola's men have been victorious in each of the last three games between the two sides, though, including a 1-0 victory at Wembley in the league earlier this term.

City have a miniature crisis in the full-back position, with Kyle Walker hobbling off against Brighton on the weekend and Oleksander Zinchenko injured against Cardiff earlier this week. Fortunately for Pep Guardiola, Benjamin Mendy made his long-awaited return last time out and should start at left back. Sergio Aguero is also expected to make the squad after a muscular problem kept him out of their last two fixtures. Bernardo Silva is expected to get the nod alongside Raheem Sterling and Aguero in attack, leaving the likes of Leroy Sane and David Silva on the bench, at least from the start.
