SEVILLA vs BAYERN MUNICH BETTING PREVIEW
Sevilla managed to hold La Liga leaders Barcelona to a 2-2 draw on Saturday. Anyway, it was a disappointing result for the Andalusians as they were leading 2-0 up to in the 87th minute. They earned just one win (2-0 over Bilbao) in last five games, with two draws (0-0 against Man United and 2-2 against Barcelona) and two losses (2-5 to Atletico and 0-2 to Valencia). Vincenzo Montella's men knocked out Manchester UTD in the last 16 round, beating the Red Devils 2-1 at Old Trafford after a 0-0 draw in the first leg. They are unbeaten at home in the Champions League this season.
Ever Banega is suspended for the hosts. Pablo Sarabia is expected to return to the starting XI after missing over the weekend through suspension. He will join Franco Vazquez and Joaquin Correa in the attacking midfield trio while Luis Muriel will probably continue to spearhead the attack. Guido Pizarro and Steven N'Zonzi will anchor the midfield. The likes of Sebastien Corchia and Jesus Navas are missing due to injury while Daniel Carriço will continue his stint on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury. Mexican right-back Miguel Layun is inelligble to play.
Bayern Munich have been in imperious form and their 8-1 aggregate destruction of Besiktas in the previous round and enter this clash on the back of a 6-0 hammering of Borussia Dortmund in 'Der Klassiker' last weekend. The Bavarians are leading the way in the Bundesliga, 17 points above 2nd. Anyway, they suffered a 2-1 defeat at RB Leipzig in their last match on the road. That result remain their only competitive defeat in calendar year 2018, and ended an unbeaten run of 20 games out of which 19 are wins. Jupp Heynckes' men have won seven of the eight matches they have played in Champions League this season, with a 3-0 defeat at PSG their only blip.
Manuel Neuer returned to training for the German giants earlier this week after six-months out but Sven Ulreich is still expected to start between the posts. Juan Bernat and Arturo Vidal are both doubtdul while Kingsley Coman and Felix Gotze are definetely sidelined. Robert Lewandowski will play as central forward with Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery on his flanks. In midfield, Corentin Tolisso could replace Vidal and play alongside James Rodriguez and Javi Martinez. The likes of Mats Hummels and Jerome Boteng will continure to play at the hearth of the back, with David Alba as left back and Joshua Kimmich as right back.
