What is the Arc De Triomphe?
The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is one of the most prestigious races in the sport and it is run at Paris-Longchamp racecourse in Paris, France.
The Arc, as it's often called, is open to horses of three years old and older and it's run over a distance of 2414m (Or 1m4f).
It is traditionally run on the first Sunday in October. hence, the 2023 renewal of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe will take place on Sunday 6th October. The post time has been scheduled for 15:20. You can watch the race live on ITV3.
Who is the favorite to win the Arc De Triomphe this year?
Sixteen runners will line up for Sunday’s Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The classiest middle-distance horses on the block from Britain, France, Germany, Ireland and Japan duke it out over 12 furlongs at Longchamp for a slice of the €5million prize pot.
Aidan O'Brien opted to pull Auguste Rodin and Luxembourg, giving punters a pretty firm idea of how the race could shape up.
Sosie and Los Angeles top the market, closely followed by Look De Vega and Shin Emperor.
Britain are represented by Sunway, trained by a Frenchman, and a likeable mare in Bluestocking. The latter was supplemented on Wednesday.

2024 Arc De Triomphe Betting Preview
SOSIE is the favourite with the top horse racing betting sites to win the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe after landing the Prix Niel over C&D in September. Andre Fabre’s stable star had three-and-a-half lengths in hand over his rival Look De Vega that day. But he has been impressive all season long. Three runs at Longchamp have produced three wins, two at the trip and one at Grade One level in the Grand Prix De Paris.LOOK DE VEGA as already followed in the hoofprints of last season’s wnner Ace Impact by claiming the spoils in the Prix du Jockey Club (the French Derby). The Al-Shaqab owned hors finished 3nd behind Sosie and Delius over course and distance in the Prix Neil last month, but he had excuses.
SHIN EMPEROR was last seen finishing a fine third in the Irish Champion Stakes behind Economics and Auguste Rodin and has been backed into 6/1 (from 12/1) to secure a maiden victory for the Far East in Europe’s richest race. Prior to that he was a good third in this year's Japanese Derby. The big unknown for Shin Emperor would be softish ground, as he has raced exclusively on fast terrain.
AL RIFFA gave City Of Troy backers a scare in the Eclipse earlier this year, going down by a length despite having to concede 10lb to the subsequent Juddmonte International winner. Then, Joseph O'Brien's colt bolted up by five lengths in the Grosser Preis von Berlin at Hoppegarten next time. His form also includes a close second to last year's sensational Arc winner Ace Impact on his final start at three.
LOS ANGELES has been impressive at the top level this season, winning the Irish Derby and placing in the Epsom Derby. He finished just over a length behind Economics in the Irish Champion Stakes and should definetely benefit from high pace in this race. The only defeat of Los Angeles' career thus far came in the Epsom Derby, where he finished third behind City Of Troy. An end-to-end gallop over a mile-and-a-half on soft ground would be his ideal conditions
Dark Horses?
BLUESTOCKIN has been in excellent form all season and looks to have a huge chance. She won over course and distance in September in the Prix Vermeille. She then she finished second at Ascot behind the gelding Goliath and beat Aventure well last time out, despite carrying 8lb more than her opponent.FANTASTIC MOON disappointed in last year's Arc when sent off at 12/1 following his success in a messy Prix Niel. Anywai that race couldn't have gone any worse for him, and this year's form is also good having won the Grosser Preis von Baden last time out. Decent ground is vital to Fantastic Moon, who stays well and isn't short of finishing speed.
DELIUS bolted up on his debut at Longchamp in April, before extending his unbeaten record to 2-2 with a battling triumph at Chantilly in May. He comfortably won the G3 Prix du Lys Longines with the minimum fuss, earning him a shot at the G1 Grand Prix de Paris over the Arc's course and distance. In this race, he finished third, beaten around two lenghts by Sosie. He renewed the rivalry with Sosie and Look De Vega in the GP2 Prix Niel but finished behind them once again.
SURVEY has stayed on well in her first two starts this year, before closing to a head second behind Sparkling Plenty in the Group One Prix Diane. She then easily landed in a a Group Two over track and trip, before finishing well beaten behind Bluestocking and Aventure in the Group One Vermeille.
HAYA ZARK loves underfoot conditions and has a record that reads 2111 on soft. As a result, we think he might surprise a few under William Buick at very high price and could be a smart each-way option with a small stake.
