NAPOLI v JUVENTUS BETTING PREVIEWThe first leg of Coppa Italia semi finals between Juventus and Napoli has launched a lot of controversy. Juve won the first match 3-1 and two of their goals were scored from a penalty spot and at one point Napoli representatives wanted to send their reserve team for the 2nd leg. Sunday's match saw Napoli outclassing the reigning champions, who found the back of the net with their only shot on goal. The Partenopei were in a similar situation in the Champions League, as they were 3-1 down after the first leg against Real Madrid, but they suffered another 3-1 defeat at Stadio San Paolo.
Maurizio Sarri is likely to give Arkadiusz Milik a starting berth after his team struggled to convert in goals a lot of chances last Sunday. As a result, Dries Mertens will be benched, while Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Callejon will retain their spot upfront. In midifeld, Amadou Diawara and Piotr Zielinski are likely to replace Allan and Jorginho. At the back, Faouzi Ghoulam will start as left back with Ivan Strinic making room while Pepe Reina is fully fit and will start between the posts. Defender Lorenzo Tonelli is the only absent player for the hosts.
Juventus extended their unbeaten run to 15 matches on the weekend but they saw Roma reducing their gap to 6 points in the Serie A standings. The Italian champions continued with a 4-2-3-1 formation in the San Paolo on Sunday, and they’re unbeaten since making the switch to that new tactic, finding the net in all those games. Furthermore, the 1-1 draw on Sunday night extended Juve’s unbeaten run over Napoli to four matches with three wins and a draw.
Coach Massimiliano Allegri is expected to make wholesale changes to his starting XI. Mario Mandzukic is unavailable and will be replaced by Paulo Dybala in the offensive midfield trio behind the lone striker Gonzalo Higuain. The other two starting berths upfront will be occupied by Stefano Sturaro and Juan Cuadrado. No changes in midfield where Sami Khedira and Miralem Pjanic are expected to get the nod over Claudio Marchisio. At the back, the likes of Dani ALves, Alex Sandro and Mehdi Benatia will come in to form the four man backlin with Leonardo Bonucci while second-choice goalkeeper Neto will replace Gianluigi Buffon in goal. Marko Pjaca is out through injury for the rest of the season.
