AC MILAN vs JUVENTUS BETTING PREVIEW
AC Milan did end a run of four games without a win with a 4-1 victory at Chievo on Wednesday but still sit 8th in the Serie A standings, having collected only 16 points from their first 10 fixtures. That result possibly saved Vincenzo Montella's job after the defeat in the Derby della Madonnina and a couple of disappointing displays in Europa League. The Rossoneri have secured a narrow 1-0 win in the sides last head-to-head encounter at S.Siro in October 2016, building on it with a Super Cup win in December (on penalties after a 1-1 draw). Anyway, Juventus have earned two narrow home wins since, including a 2-1 Coppa Italia win in January and a 2-1 Serie A win with a 97’ winner from Paulo Dybala.Leonardo Bonucci was sent off on Sunday meaning he will be suspended for the game against his former club while Davide Calabria suffered a facial injury in midweek and will be sidelined for a week. Giacomo Bonaventura is also out due to a muscular problem, meaning that Suso and Hakan Calhanoglu will play as offensive forward behind the lone striker. For this position, Nikola Kalinic is favourite over Andrè Silva and Patrick Cutrone to start the match. Christian Zapata should play as third centre-back with Mateo Musacchio and Leandro Romagnoli, while Fabio Borini and Ricardo Rodriguez should retain their wing-back berth.
Juventus’ response to their defeat to Lazio has been impressive, beating Sporting in the Champions League before hammering Udinese and Spal, scoring a total of 10 goals across the two league games. The Bianconeri now sit 3rd in the table standings, one point behind Inter Milan and three points shy of league leaders Napoli. They have lacked such consistency on the road (with two wins in last four games across all competitions) and their defense have not been particularly solid in recent times having conceded 8 goals in the last 5 outings.
Coach Max Allegri has defensive concerns as Benedikt Howedes is out with a thigh injury and Mehdi Benatia is a major doubt after damaging his ankle. As a result, Giorgio Chiellini will be partnered by Andrea Barzagli at the heart of the backline. Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira will retain their starting berth in midfield as Blaise Matuidi is not 100% fit. Mario Mandzukic serve his one-match ban and will replace Federico Bernardeschi in the starting XI. The Crotian will support Gonzalo Higuain up front alongside Juan Cuadrado and Paulo Dybala. Stefano Sturaro and Marko Pjaca remain out through injury.
