Man City have won 23 of their 25 home matches in all competitions this season

Manchester City have a one-goal deficit to make up having lost the first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 1-0 eight days ago and theirhopes of winning an unprecedented quadruple are in danger. The 1st leg result extended City’s poor run against English teams in Europe, with five defeats in five games. Pep Guardiola's men were made to work slightly harder in their 3-1 victory against Crystal Palace over the weekend. The Citizens still trail Liverpool by two points, but they have one game in hand. They have won all 11 of their home matches in 2019 by a remarkable 48-3 aggregate.

Sergio Aguero is likely to get the nod over Gabriel Jesus in attack, while Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling should play on his flanks. In midfield, Fernandinho should be fine to play a full part in this one, with Kevin de Bruyne and David Silva expected to partner the Brazilian. In defense, Oleksandr Zinchenko is available following injury and could come in for Fabian Delph at left-back. The likes of Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte will complete the four man backline.

Spurs have lost six of their last seven away matches

In the previous round the Lilywhites cruised to a 3-0 win in the first leg at Wembley Stadium and saw the job through with a 1-0 victory in Germany. Anyway, that game at the Signal Iduna Park was the only time Pochettino's men avoided defeat in the last 7 matches away from home. That run includes a penalty defeat to Chelsea in the EFL Cup semi-finals few weeks ago. Spurs routed Huddersfield 4-0 in Premier League on Saturday and remain third in the standings, with Chelsea and Arsenal trailing by 1 point (but Gunners and Spurs have one game in hand). As to direct matches, this season's Premier League meeting at Wembley Stadium ended in a 1-0 defeat thanks to an early Riyad Mahrez goal.

Harry Kane is ruled out through injury. Hence Son Heung-Min, who was a late introduction against Huddersfield and is expected to lead the line. Lucas Moura has scored a hat-trick last time out and should be preferred to Dele Alli, who is a major doubt, and start alongside Christian Eriksen behind the South Korean. Fernando Llorente came off late on at the weekend and will be assessed. Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier will play as wing backs while Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez will form the three man defense. Eric Dier, Serge Aurier and Erik Lamela are all definitely missing for Spurs.
