MANCHESTER CITY v TOTTENHAM BETTING PREVIEW

Man City are currently in 4th position, six points off top spot, and enter this match on the back of a 3-1 home defeat to league leaders Leicester City. They are actually only just six points above fifth-placed Manchester United. Furthermore, the Citizens have not yet beaten any team currently in the top six in the Premier League table this season - drawing three and losing four times during that run.

Manuel Pellegrini welcomes back Vincent Kompany, whilst David Silva has recovered from an ankle problem in time. Fabian Delph and right-back Bacary Sagna will miss the match, joining the likes of Eliaquim Mangala, Kevin de Bruyne, Samir Nasri, Wilfried Bony and Jesus Navas on the sidelines. As consequence Fernando will start in midfieled and Pablo Zabaleta as right back. Kelechi Iheanacho is expected to play up front alongside Sergio Aguero.

Tottenham go into the game in second place, ahead of local rivals Arsenal on goal difference, and on the back of four straight wins in the league. Only Leicester (2) have lost fewer league games than Spurs this season and they have only been beaten once on their travels - the opening weekend of the season when they lost 1-0 at Old Trafford.

Mauricio Pochettino will still be without defender Jan Vertonghen and forward Clinton Njie due to knee problems. Dele Alli should come back into the starting XI and first-choice full-backs Kyle Walker and Danny Rose are also likely to earn recalls. Erik Lamela may also start, though Hueng-Min Son is also an option on the right with Nacer Chadli dropping out.

Tottenham ran out 4-1 winners when the sides met at White Hart Lane in September’s reverse fixture. Matches between Citizens and Spurs have been the most high-scoring in the top-flight over recent seasons, with 41 goals scored in the last nine encounters. Sergio Aguero has scored 10 goals in his eight previous appearances against Tottenham.
