Man City have won nine and scored 34 goals in the last 11 Champions League matches

Manchester City are three points clear at the top of Group C, having beaten both Shakhtar Donetsk (0-3 in Ukraine) and Dinamo Zagreb (2-0 at home) in the first two clashes. Before the international break, the Citizens suffered a surprising 0-2 loss at home against Wolves but managed to earn 2 points over Liverpool (who drew 1-1 at Old Trafford) by beating 2-0 Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Pep Guardiola's men have now won 6 of their last 7 fixtures in all competitions and trail the Reds by 6 points.

Nicolas Otamendi and Kyle Walker will face late fitness tests after missing Saturday's match at Selhurst Park. Sergio Augero will spearhead the attack after being rested against the Eagles. The Argentine should be supported by Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling out wide, David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne in central position. Should Otamendi be fit to partner Fernandinho at the back, Rodri is expected to anchor the midfield. Joao Cancelo and Benjamin Mendy are likely to start as full backs.

Atalanta qualified for the group stages of the Champions League for the first time in their history by finished third in Serie A last year, above Inter Milan. Domestically, Gianpiero Gasperini's men are currently third although they drew 3-3 against Lazio at the Olimpico on Saturday (Atalanta were 3-0 up in the first half). They had claimed four straight away wins in Serie A this term prior to Saturday's draw. Defense is the main concern as they have kept only one clean sheet in 10 competitive games so far.

Atalanta will play with a 3-4-2-1, the system utilised by Wolves few weeks ago that could cause problems to the Citizens' backline. Duvan Zapata is out through injury. Hence Gianpiero Gasperini could decide to play with Josip Ilicic as false nine or give Luis Muriel a starting berth. Alejandro Gomez and Ruslan Malinovskiy will play as offensive midfielder while Robin Gosens and Timothy Castagne should get the nod over Hans Hateboer for the wing back positions. The likes of Marteen De Roon and Remo Freuler feature from the off in the middle of the park.
