MANCHESTER UTD v WEST HAM BETTING PREVIEW
Manchester UTD were held 1-1 by West Ham in the Premier League last Sunday, drawing their fourth league home matches in a row. The Red Devils went behind in under two minutes and despite Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulling one back in the first half they couldn’t find a winner. Theyhave won just one of their last six against West Ham in all competitions now (W1 D4 L1). Anyway, Mourinho's men were brilliant in the Europa League last week, beating Feyenoord 4-0 at home.
Midfielders Paul Pogba and Maraoune Fellaini are both suspended whie defensive duo Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling remain sidelined. Michael Carrick is expected to start in midfield, as well as Daley Blind and Luke Shaw at the back. Henrikh Mkhitaryan was dropped back to the bench on Sunday despite impressing in Europa League and he is expected to start in the offensive midfield trio alongside Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic spearheading the attack once again.
The draw on Sunday made it four games without a win for West Ham though, with two of those being defeats. The Hammers currently sit in 17th in the Premier League standings and have produced a pretty shocking record out on the road this season - W1 D2 L6 in all competitions so far. In the League Cup, West Ham scraped past Accrington Stanley thanks to a Dimitri Payet goal deep into added time, but they produced a much better performance when they beat 2-1 Chelsea in the 3rd round.
Diafra Sakho has been ruled out for four weeks with a hamstring injury picked up last time out and Andre Ayew could lead the line in midweek. Andy Carroll is fit and he is likely to feature at some stage. Defender Winston Reid missed on Sunday through suspension but will return to the team here, replacing James Collins at the heart of the defense. Gokhan Tore, Sam Byrm and Arthur Masuaku are all out though injury.
