MANCHESTER CITY v MONACO BETTING PREVIEW
Manchester City enter this clash on the back of a surprising 0-0 draw with Huddersfield in the FA Cup last time out despite fielding a strong starting line-up. The Citizens are unbeaten in their last six competitive games but still trail Chelsea by 10 points in the Premier League standings. In Champions League, Guardiola's boys won just two of their six group matches but three draws and just one defeat saw them finish as runners up to Barcelona. Anyway, they beat Monchengladbach 4-0 and Barcelona 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium, prior to drew 1-1 against Celtic.
Gabriel Jesus broke his metatarsal and will be out until April so Sergio Aguero is set to lead the attack. Yaya Toure has been recalled to City's Champions League squad and is expected to start alongside Fernandinho. Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling are in contention for a starting berth as right winger while Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva look sure to start behind the lone striker. Ilkay Gundogan is also out for the rest of the season. Captain VIncent Kompany has been rouled out and will miss the first-leg match.
AS Monaco are in with a great chance of breaking PSG's dominance in the French top tier this season. They were held to a 1-1 draw with Bastia on Friday evening but remained three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 as PSG also dropped points. They are now unbeaten in their last 12 competitive games, losing just two of their last 26. Furthermore, Monaco have scored a staggering 75 goals in 25 league appearances this season and topped their Champions League group with 11 points. Leonardo Jardim's men finished ahead of Bayer Leverkusen with Tottenham having to settle for Europa League football.
Manager Leonardo Jardim is without the suspended Jemerson for the trip to Manchester, with the doubtful Andrea Raggi in line to partner Kamil Glik in defence. Valere Germain is likely to partner Radamel Falcao up front with Bernardo Silva and Thomas Lemare deployed as offensive wingers. Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Boschilia is out as he recovers from a cruciate injury.
