LIVERPOOL v AUGSBURG BETTING PREVIEW

Liverpool go into Thursday night’s second leg against Augsburg on level terms following the goalless draw in Germany a week ago. They have lost only two of their last 18 at Anfield (any competition) although that run is littered with draws. Actually the Reds have won just one of their last six matches in all competitions and are yet to keep a clean sheet on home turf in the Europa League this campaign,

The Reds had last weekend off but Klopp will almost certainly have one eye on Sunday’s Capital One Cup Final clash with Manchester City. Anyway, the German manager may be forced to go with a strong XI at Anfield and this could see Daniel Sturridge, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho start together once more. Adam Lallana, Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren are all out through injury while Danny Ings and Joe Gomez are the long-term absentees.

Augsburg ended a four-game winless run in Germany’s top flight by beating Hannover 96 at the weekend with a goal from South Korea’s Koo Ja-Cheol. It was their first win of 2016, a result that saw them move four points clear of the relegation play-off spot.

The German outfit are likely to be missing top scorer Raul Bobadilla, who has a hamstring injury and Markus Weinzierl will probably employ Iceland’s Alfred Finnbogason as a lone striker again. Markus Feulner is also sidelined as he has recently joined Bauer, Moravek, Trochowski and Callsen-Bracker in the infirmary due to a broken cheekbone.
