LEICESTER vs TOTTENHAM BETTING PREVIEW
It has been quite a slow start for Claude Puel as Leicester City are winless in their last three Premier League matches after a big victory over Everton in his opening game. The Foxes currently lie 11th in the Premier League, and are only four points above the drop zone, despite some improved performances. They looked the better side for much of their 1-1 draw with West Ham on Friday, but the dropped points mean they are 0-2-1 since winning two in a row. All five of Leicester’s defeats this season have come against the top six, with three of those being on home soil. As to direct matches, Spurs secured second place in the Premier League with a 6-1 rout at the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes are hopeful that Matty James and Robert Huth will soon make comebacks from injury, but Tuesday is likely to come too soon for the pair. As a result, Puel could name the same starting XI that drew against the Hammers at the weekend, meaning that Riyad Mahrez will play as number ten behind Jamie Vardy, supported by Marc Albrighton and Demaray Gray out wide. Other viable options are Shinji Okazaki and Islam Slimani. The four man backline will be formed by Christian Fuchs and Danny Simpson as full backs, Harry Maguire and Wes Morgan as centre backs.
Tottenham have only picked up one point from the last available six in Premier League aving drawn 1-1 West Brom at the weekend and lost 2-0 to Arsenal a week earlier. The negative run was at least interrupted by an impressive Champions League win against Borussia Dortmund, a result that qualified Spurs for the knockout stage. Their inconsistencies at home continue to frustrate the fans but away from the curse of Wembley things have been a bit better. The Lilywhites have won 4 ot of six away games, losing only to Arsenal and Manchester United.
Erik Lamela is expected to miss out again, alongside Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama. Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies were unconvincing on Saturday and could be replaced by Danny Rose and Serge Aurier at wing-backs. Pochettino could make other changes in midfield, where Mousa Dembelè and Moussa Sissoko are likely to start alongside Dele Alli. Up front, Christian Eriksen will be tucked behind the lone striker Harry Kane as usual. Fernando Llorente and Son Heung Min provide further alternatives.
