LEICESTER v LIVERPOOL BETTING PREVIEW

Leicester have lost their last 5 matches and are only one point above the bottom three. As a result, manager Claudio Ranieri has been sacked just a few months after leading the Foxes to the Premier League title. Assistant manager Craig Shakespeare and first-team coach Mike Stowell will take charge. The Foxes have failed to score in their last 6 league matches but they found a crucial goal in their Champions League last-16 round 1st leg against Sevilla, despite they suffered a 2-1 defeat in Spain.

Islam Slimani remains a doubt, so Riyad Mahrez or Demarai Gray could be utilised in a central attacking midfield role behind the lone striker Jamie Vardy. Marc Albrighton also appears a likely starter in one of the wide positions, with Ahmed Musa perhaps in line to drop to the bench. No changes are expected in defense where Christian Fuchs, Danny Simpson, Robert Huth and captain Wes Morgan are likely to start in the four man backline.

Liverpool enter this match in 5th position in the Premier League table following their 2-0 win over Tottenham two weekends ago. That was their only success in Premier League game in 2017. Prior to the match against the Spurs, Jurgen Klopp's men suffered embarassing defeats at the hands of Swansea (2-3) and Hull City (0-2) in Premier League, Southampton in EFL Cup and Wolves (1:2) in FA Cup. A qualification for next year's Champions League is the Reds' only objective for the remaining of the season.

Dejan Lovren was sent to Germany for further treatment on an on-going knee problem during the week and he is expected to miss out here. Ragnar Klavan has fully recovered from illness and he is favourite to partner Joel Matip as centre back. The likes of Adam Lallana, Georgino Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson are expected to retain their berth in midfield. The front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Philippe Coutinho is also set to remain unchanged. Daniel Sturridge should be fit enough to make the trip but he will start on the bench.
