Juddmonte Stakes 2015 predictions, tips, odds and free bets (York Ebor - 19 August 2015)

JUDDMONTE STAKES BETTING PREVIEW

Golden Horn is red hot favourite to land the race as he bids to gain his sixth victory in as many races. The Dante Stakes winner followed his triumph at the Epsom Derby by comfortably outpointing that excellent yardstick The Grey Gatsby in the Coral Eclipse, recording a memorable hat-trick.

Gleneagles would be going for a ninth straight victory but for being disqualified in the Grand Criterium at Longchamp in October. Three runs this term have yielded a trio of wins, with the Galileo colt landing both the 2000 Guineas and Irish 2000 Guineas, as well as the St James’s Palace Stakes. The ground has come right for him and he is certain to mount a bold bid if as effective over this longer distance.



Time Test has only one win from three juvenile starts, but showed great progression on his seasonal return to action when readily landing a valuable Newbury handicap. However, the form of that Ascot race has been let down by a few of those in behind, with the likes of Disegno, Mustadeem and Maftool all running poorly since.

The Grey Gatsby shouldn't be underestimated with a great record on the Knavesmire, including a win in the 2014 Dante and a cracking second behind Australia in this 12 months ago. Two furlongs out in the Eclipse he looked to be cantering all over Golden Horn. He is 3lbs better off at the weights today, but it will take more than that if he is to reverse the form with the Gosden horse.

Criterion has plenty of high class form on quick ground too, including a good run behind Free Eagle in the Prince Of Wales at Royal Ascot while Cougar Montain has been largely disappointing since opening his account on debut at Naas and he ran perhaps the best race of his career when finishing just over one length behind Solow in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot.

Arabian Queen comes here on the back of a super run in third behind Legatissimo in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood, but but still leaves this likeable filly with plenty to find against the colts.

Dick Doughtywylie - who represents the same connections as Golden Horn - has not been seen out for over a year and is likely here to ensure a strong pace for his stable mate. He is amassive outsider.
