ANTHONY JOSHUA vs JOSEPH PARKER BETTING PREVIEW
Anthony Joshua comes into the bout with 20 knockout victories from his 20 fights, including that one against the legendary Wladimir Klitschko. He will put his WBA, IBF and IBO world titles on the line, as he looks to add the Kiwi’s WBO belt to his growing collection of titles. This fight marks Joshua's second successive fight in Cardiff, having defeated Carlos Takam by TKO in the 10th round at this venue back in October despite being hampered by an early clash of heads which caused his nose to swell. In AJ's first 14 fights as a pro, he found the knock-out punch inside the first 3 rounds. This remarkable run had to come to an end as the quality of opponent rose and Dillian Whyte was able to go to Round 7 with Joshua before being brutally KO’d by the World Heavyweight Champion.
Joshua has a world class work ethic and has improved seemingly with every fight. The Watford hard-hitter possesses the physical edge with a two-inch height advantage and a vast six inches extra in reach. That means Parker will have to somehow find a way to get past the British fighter’s jab. AJ will come into the fight far lighter than he did against Carlos Takam to narrow the speed gap between the pair. There are questions over his cardio and he has been troubled by punches in the past. He was dropped by Klitschko in the 7th round, before rallying to win in the 11th. So we know Joshua can be hurt, but we also know he has the heart of a Lion and youth on his side.

Joseph Parker also has an impressive history so far, record with 18 knockouts in his unbeaten 24-fight record. He is yet to stop notable heavyweight opposition and has failed to secure a knockout victory in each of his last three bouts, defeating Andy Ruiz by split decision before picking up a unanimous win against Romanian Razvan Cojanu in May 2017. The Kiwi was last seen last September when he fought and defeated Hughie Fury - cousin of Tyson - via majority decision, although two of the judges scored the fight 118-110 in his favour.
Parker has the speed and power to cause problems for the Brit and has so far shown no signs of vulnerability in his career. Furthermore, he has boxed almost double the number of rounds that Joshua has in his professional career. If he can drag the Brit into the second half of the fight and make him work tirelessly in the championship rounds the contest could favour the WBO champion. The Kiwi has never been knocked down as a professional but his chin is yet to be tested at the truly elite level.
